The Cashton defense caged Hillsboro's Tigers in Friday's Week 5 prep football matchup.
The Eagles forced three interceptions and recovered two fumbles en route to a 28-7 road win on Sept. 18 in a game that was moved up to a 5:00 p.m. Start time due to oncoming weather.
Graham Hemmersbach, Wyatt Howell and Brent Hemmersbach each collected a pass from the opposition.
Brent Hemmersbach's interception near the three minute mark of the fourth quarter was returned for the final score of the ball game.
"I thought our defensive ends did a tremendous job containing everything," said Cashton head coach Jered Hemmersbach.
Hemmersbach said the turnovers were a product of constant pressure by the Eagles in the contest. Cashton's defensive front drilled through the Tigers' offensive line to notch handful of tackles for loss, including four total sacks. Brent Hemmersbach, along with Christensen, Traeton Gill and Jett Pedretti, were each credited with a sack.

Cashton earned its first endzone trip at the end of its first drive as Jack Christensen rushed for both a seven-yard score and two-point try after. The final minute of the opening quarter, Christensen used a one-yard dive to put the visitors up 14-0.
Graham Hemmersbach had a one-yard plunge of his own in the third quarter and, for a second-straight time, the extra point try failed. Hillsboro's Ben Blaha had a kick return of 65 yards to make the score 20-7 just a few ticks later, but the INT return for a score by Brent Hemmersbach set the final at 28-7.
Cutler Brueggen and Jack Christensen forced a change of possession by picking up a fumble while Rylan Mlsna led all tacklers with five solo wrangles.
Christensen led the Eagles' ground game with 73 yards on 21 tries. Landon Laufenberg had 11 carries for 59 yards in the game.
Hillsboro's Matthew Huffman ended with 29 yards on 10 tries.
