Twenty-five years ago, Elle Woods and her pink blazer ensemble hit the big screen.
Cashton Schools will present the musical version of ‘Legally Blonde’ starting Thursday, Nov. 5 and running through Sunday, Nov. 8 in the CHS gymnasium. Showtimes are 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The production is an adaptation of the 2001 movie of the same name, which starred Reese Witherspoon as a “preppy-in-pink” sorority girl who gets dumped by her boyfriend for not being serious enough for his future political aspirations. To prove him wrong, Woods then pursues a future in law and gets accepted into Harvard Law School. The movie is based on a book by Amanda Brown.
“The students have been hard at work putting Legally Blonde together for the past two months,” said director Levi Magnuson. “Our dedicated cast is excited to share this show with the Cashton community. Please join us to see what it truly means to be ‘Legally Blonde.’”
Magnuson says the production features stories of empowerment and standing up for oneself, along with many group dance numbers. Music is provided by a live band of local musicians.
