Eagle Appliance moves into Hundt Implement building

UPDATE: Eagle Appliance will open in their new location on Saturday, July 11 at 9 a.m. with a grand opening planned for the future.

For one of Cashton’s newest businesses, the process of moving out of one of the most historical storefronts has begun, and will likely be finished before week’s end.

Mark Huntzicker and his Eagle Appliance crew officially started the process of physically transferring out of the former Mitby’s TV & Appliance building at 819 Front St. on Wednesday, July 8. Two years ago, Huntzicker took over the appliance repair and sale business from Mike Mitby.

Huntzicker says that while the Mitby location was great, the Hundt Implement building offers ample space for storage.

“We were just outgrowing the space,” said Huntzicker. “Now, we have so much room for making repairs and storing vehicles if needed.”

In terms of distance, the move isn’t long, but the process to move in has been in the making for months since Huntzicker was handed the keys on April 1.

Renovations inside the new location include a new coating of epoxy on the floor, fresh coat of paint on the walls, and a new wall between the main sales floor and the old service counter.

Huntzicker says none of it could have been possible without the help of his staff, family, and friends.

“I’ll have been working at the shop all day and I come here and it’s... wow” said Huntzicker.  “There’s no way I could have done this without them.”

The moving of computers and phones began Wednesday afternoon, with appliances set to make the journey Thursday and Friday.

Huntzicker says he hopes to be open and operational in the former Hundt Implement building one block down at 709 Front St. by Saturday, July 11. A grand opening will happen sometime in the next month or so.

As for the Mitby building, Triggers N’ Tackle is anticipated to move in over the next couple of months.
