BANGOR
Elijah Cropp covered 122 yards on the ground as the Cardinals blanked Hillsboro 28-0 in Friday's football contest for the team's first win. Cropp had 10 carries and a score while Bangor finished with 212 total yards on the ground.
Bangor went 4-1 at their home volleyball tournament on Friday and Saturday Sept. 4 and 5. The Cardinals' lone loss came Friday to C-FC 2-1. The BHS netters defeated Kickapoo, Prairie du Chien, Eleva Strum and Boscobel.
The Cardinals will play Royall next Tuesday.

BROOKWOOD
Brookwood's boys cross country team was third behind La Crosse Logan (47) and Richland Center (53) with 73 points at the Viroqua invite Sept. 3
Cooper Powell (18:07.4) was sixth overall. August Rueckheim and Nolan Waddell were eighth and 10th, respectively.
Miranda Arndt led the girls cross country team with a 17th place (23:44.5) finish at Viroqua on Sept. 3. Leo Wallace was 30th overall.
Brookwood volleyball went 4-1 at Bangor Friday and Saturday. The Falcons lost to C-FC 2-0 and swept Kickapoo Friday. On Saturday, BHS topped Lincoln and Boscobel 2-0 and PdC 2-1.
The Falcon football team lost to Cashton 20-7 and will play host to Hillsboro this week.

SPARTA
The Spartans' girls golf team was fourth at Holmen Tuesday behind an 11th place finish by Laney Huntington (93).
Sparta volleyball rallied to win sets three and four, but fell in five at Aquinas Sept. 8. The SHS group hosts a tournament this Saturday.
On the tennis court, Sparta is 1-4 after being swept by Tomah (Sept. 1) and Aquinas (Sept. 3).
La Crosse Logan scored 23 points in the third quarter to thwart the Spartans in football 43-7. Hunter Huntington finished with 115 rushing yards and eight tackles.

VIROQUA
Angela Diehl and Adelaide Woodward each had top ten finishes at the Viroqua invite on Sept. 3. Diehl was fourth (21:55.3) in the girls' race, Woodward sixth.
The Blackhawk girls were second (73) behind La Crosse Central (56).
Enrico Fiorello led the boys with a 22nd place finish and Matthew Berra was 27th.
Megan Brendel and Maddie Schwarz each had five kills in the Blackhawks' opening match of the Bangor volleyball invite. The VHS group defeated Eleva-Strum 2-0 and went on to best Wonewoc-Center 2-1, Lincoln 2-0 and C-FC 2-0. Schwarz had 16 kills in the three-set win against W-C.
Viroqua football lost at home to Arcadia on Sept. 4. Noah Schwarz scored the lone VHS touchdown in the fourth quarter. Arcadia outgained Viroqua 205-105 on the ground.
The tennis team is 2-9 after taking a 7-0 loss from West Salem on Sept. 3.
