BANGOR
Bangor sophomore Kenli Gollnick and junior Grayson Truskowski raced to third and fourth place finishes at the Cashton cross country invite Saturday, Aug. 29.
Gollnick was the top Scenic Bluffs runner, finishing the girls race with a time of 21:04.9. Truskowski was behind Hillsboro's Dominic Kirkpatrick - a state qualifier in 2025 - by 12 seconds in the boys race.
The Cardinal netters went 3-4 at the JustAGame Sprawl in Wisconsin Dells (Aug. 26-27), earning wins against Pittsville, Southwestern and Darlington.
On the grid iron, Luther throttled BHS 40-6 Aug. 28.

BROOKWOOD
Ethan Todd ended with 66 rushing yards and a score while Shepard Doll tallied 68 yards in BHS's 34-6 win over Viroqua in Week 2 football action.
Jackson DeWitt and Carter Brueggeman each had eight tackles and combined for three tackles for loss in the win over the visiting Blackhawks.
The Falcons' volleyball team notched a 2-0 win over Boscobel on Aug. 27, but finished 1-5 in the team's first outing at the JustAGame Sprawl last week.
Samantha Markee was the girls' lead runner at Cashton's cross country invite Saturday, placing 19th.

SPARTA
Sparta is one of five Mississippi Valley Conference teams to move to 2-0 after notching a Week 2 victory over G-E-T 14-6 on Thursday, Aug. 27. Junior Hunter Huntington finished with 107 rushing yards and 15 total tackles. Jaylen Kikkert was credited with a pair of sacks in the win.
The Sparta volleyball team moved to 1-1 in MVC play after sweeping La Crosse Logan Monday, Aug. 31.

VIROQUA
Viroqua's cross country teams each delivered a runner-up effort at Cashton's invite on Saturday, August 29.
Matthew Berra, Henry Roberts and August Roberts paced the boys squad, finishing within eight seconds of each other. Berra was eighth overall and the Roberts' duo, ninth and 10th, respectively.
Angela Diehl's time of 21:25.8 was enough for fourth in the girls race at Cashton. Allyah Schwem (21:47.8) was sixth.
The Blackhawks scored 56 points for second in the girls race and 63 in the boys. Richland Center won both races with both teams scoring 36 points.
Matthew Pratt rushed for 68 yards and one score as the Blackhawks' football team fell 34-6 at Brookwood, moving to 0-2 on the season. The VHS gridders host Arcadia (2-0) this Friday evening (Sept. 4).
Luther topped VHS 3-1 in the opening match of the Coulee Conference volleyball season August 27.
