Angel Tree program accepting donations through Dec. 12

Posted

The Angel Tree Program is the result of an ongoing cooperation between Cashton Elementary, The Bank of Cashton and Central Express to help connect families in need of gifts, and appreciate the generosity of others.

There will be two “Angel Trees” in the community this year. One will be located at the Bank of Cashton and one will be at Central Express.

On these trees will be gift tags with the gender and age of a child or teenager (birth to 17) in our community. Each child will have two tags. One tag has clothing sizes and the other is a toy or non-clothing gift. Participants will choose a tag (or tags) from the tree, purchase and wrap the gift, return to the Bank of Cashton by Dec. 12.

When possible, families will also receive food items donated by area residents, the Salvation Army, and local businesses including Hansen’s IGA and also a quilt from the Cashton Community Quilters. Food donations will be collected during the Student Council food drive. A donation collection box will also be placed in the elementary school lobby.

Families of nominated children may pick up their gifts Thursday, Dec. 18. or Friday, Dec. 19 at the Cashton Elementary School by appointment. For more information, contact Sara Schauf or Sherri Berg at the elementary school, (608) 654-7377.
