The Cashton Fine Arts Booster Club will host the Brats, Burgers, Band event on Wednesday, June 29th at the Cashton Village Park. A fundraiser picnic will start being served at 5:00 PM and the free Viroqua Area Community Band performance, with regional membership including Cashton musicians, will start at 6:00 PM in the large shelter.

Brats, Burgers, Band is an event that will bring community members together to celebrate music and enjoy a freshly prepared meal. The Viroqua Area Community Band consists of members from around the area, such as Cashton, Westby, Viroqua, La Farge, Kickapoo, from high school and up. The ensemble rehearses throughout the spring and summer and performs sets of music at various events.

The Cashton Fine Arts Booster Club (CFAB) is an organization that works to support, encourage, and sustain the youth in the fine arts within our community. Through fundraising, donations, and events, CFAB can support many of the clubs and organizations in the schools and community such as band, choir, show choir, theatre, and art. The arts teach students innumerable lessons—practice makes perfect, small differences can have large effects; collaboration leads to creativity. The arts also teach children there are several paths to take when approaching problems and that all problems can have more than one solution.

During the pandemic, arts education (music, drama, art) has been hit hard with students dropping out, cancelled performances, and uncertainty over what happens next. CFAB is dedicated to showcasing the tremendous talent of Cashton students, bring back participations, and make sure students see the opportunity and benefits of arts education.
