Lemon Pound Cake

1/2 cup butter, softened

1 cup sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

3 teaspoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla

1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Dash of salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup sour cream

Icing:

3/4 cup powdered sugar

3 tablespoons lemon juice

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a loaf pan. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the lemon juice and vanilla. In another bowl, whisk flour, salt, and baking soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition. Transfer to prepared pan. Bake for about 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for about 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely. In a small bowl, mix icing ingredients. Spoon over pound cake.
