Bank event hits all the right notes for a trip through time
April 13, 2022
There were plenty of artifacts on loan last week, Wednesday, when the Bank of Cashton hosted a history of Cashton music night. Local historian, Mike Hanson provided a treasure trove of information, and pictures spanning many decades, even centuries, lined several tables for guests to view.
Of the many curiosities was a banjolin and an antique drum from the civil war era played by William Brueggen. The drum, and sticks, provided by Paul Brueggen, is not the military issue drum used by William during the Civil War. That piece is on display at the Monroe County History Room in Sparta.
The event was well attended and offer a comprehensive glimpse into Cashton's musical past.
