Frances E. Brueggen, 86, of Cashton, WI passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her home. She was born May 23, 1935, on the family farm near Cashton, to Theodore and Helen (Frederick) Briggeman. Frances was united in Holy Matrimony to Ervin Brueggen, September 29, 1954, at Pine Hollow Catholic Church near Cashton, WI.

Frances loved old-time music and going dancing with Ervin in their younger years and music remained important in her life. She and Ervin raised their family on the farm where Frances shared all the aspects of farming. She also cultivated a big, beautiful garden that always had a bountiful harvest. She was an amazing cook and loved having family and friends over for dinner. And her meals never ever ended without delicious desserts.

Frances instilled a strong faith and work ethic in her children. The importance of taking care of each other was another trait she inspired her family with. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to every family weekend visit and reunion. Frances will be missed greatly by her loving family, friends and all that knew her- Blessed be the memories.

Frances is survived by six children, Annette (Larry) Erickson of Sparta, WI, Donna (Jeff) Bjornstad of Westby, WI, Eugene (Judy) Brueggen of West Salem, WI, son-in-law, Dan (Debby) Korn of Cashton, Daniel Brueggen of Cashton, Jo Ann (Darin) Von Ruden of Westby, Amy (Clint) Kramer of Cashton; 12 grandchildren, Craig (Kelly) Erickson, Derek Erickson, Jeremy (Kelley) Bjornstad, Justin (Darcy) Bjornstad, Janessa (Kris) Kessler, Alexis Brueggen, Kaitlin (friend, Ryan) Brueggen, Nick (Kelly) Korn, Brett (Nicole) Von Ruden, Alyssa (Spencer) Daines, Lindsey (Cody) Dahl, Natalie Kramer; 15 great grandchildren, Carter and Kadynce Erickson, Evan and Isaac Erickson, Judson, Kayte Madison, and Jackson Bjornstad, Oren Bjornstad, Klara Kessler, Frederick Korn, Jacqueline and Anna Korn, Evelyn and Etta Von Ruden and James Daines; sisters, Betty Schmitz, Agnes Schmitz, and Lucille Kneifl; sister-in-law Mary Ann Leis; along with many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ervin; a daughter Marlene Korn; a granddaughter, Jacqueline Korn; sisters, Marie (Jim) Hurtz and Elaine (Darold) Dahlke; brothers-in-law, Robert Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, and Donald Kneifl.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Cashton, WI. Father Eric Berns officiated. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Cashton, WI. Family and friends were invited for visitation on Monday, February 21, 2022, 4-7:00, beginning with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton. Family and friends were also invited for visitation Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

The family has requested that memorials be given in Frances's memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or to St. Jude's Hospital.
