James "Jim" C. Frederick

James "Jim" C. Frederick, age 71, of Cashton, WI, passed away December 6, 2021, at the Necedah Home Care; after a long battle with both mental and physical health issues including diabetes. With our love Jim, may you find rest.

Jim was born May 20, 1950, in the Township of Portland in Monroe County, to Joseph and Irene (Herricks) Frederick of Cashton. Jim was the 7th child born to his parents of 11 children. He graduated from Cashton High School in 1968. He became a cheese maker for Portland Cheese Factory, Midport Cheese Factory near Middle Ridge, and Liberty Pole Cheese of Viroqua. Jim was very handy when it came to mechanics and helped many farmers with broken machinery. He also enjoyed fieldwork, helping in the barns, and country living. Jim's fondest things were to work on antique machinery, trucks, cars, old tractors, lawn mowers and engines.

Jim is survived by three brothers, Gilbert (Marilyn) of West Salem, WI, Thomas (Lori) of Rockland, WI, and Patrick (Audrey) of Bangor, WI; three sisters, Shirley (Darrel) Waugh of Reedsburg, WI, Barbara (Darrell) of St. Joseph Ridge, WI, and Kathryn Thrasher of Edgerton, WI; sisters-in-law, MaryJo Dunnum, Judy and Linda Frederick; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, and Irene; a sister, Helen (Theodore) Rademacher; brothers, Roger, David and Eugene; and brother-in-law, Philip Thrasher.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton, WI. Burial will follow in the Pine Hollow Cemetery. Father Michael Klos will officiate. Family and friends are invited to the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday for visitation.

Family has asked that memorials be given to a charity of your choice in Jim's name.
