Cashton High School Basketball has started the season 5-1 and are the defending Monroe-Vernon Conference champions.

Santa Clause will be in Cashton a week from tomorrow, Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22.

164 of 452 miles on interstate highway scheduled to b built in Monroe County are complete. The remainder will be constructed as soon as funds are available.

The first sub zero temperatures and heavy snow hit the Cashton area this week.

More donations are needed for the Mitten Tree, sponsored by the Cashton Elementary School’s Parent-Teacher Organization.

Village Employees, Dale Biever and Carl Thorsen were busy putting up Christmas decorations downtown.

A tax levy increase of 21.4% (39,000) was approved by the Cashton Village Board.

Cashton’s Jean Leis took top honors in the all-around competition as Cashton won the three-team gymnastics meet at Cashton. Jody Larson placed second in the all-around.

Cashton High School varsity boys basketball coach, Kevin Alderson recorded his 200th win last Friday at the team started the season with two straight wins.

The Annual Christmas Gala fundraiser will be held this Saturday to benefit the Torkelson Memorial Library.

Maple Valley, an organic cooperative of around 27 farmers, is producing high quality maple syrup and other products right in downtown Cashton.

The Cashton High School Band traveled to La Crosse to perform under the Rotary Lights at Riverside Park.
