Eagle Wrestling on the mats at tough Royall Invitational

December 8, 2021

The Eagle wrestlers traveled to Elroy for the Royall Invitational. This tournament was nice because the JV got valuable mat time as well.

Starting with the JV… Abraham Harter finished the day 3-0 with all pins and Ericris Tirado finished the day 2-0 with two pins.

The Eagles varsity not only faced a tough tournament, but also a start to a normal tournament. The Eagles have not wrestled a normal season since 2019 -2020 season. So as a Coach I expected to see the results from this. The Eagles could only podium one for the day.

Austin Culpitt took third by getting the fall over Jackson Geitner from Poynette. Great Job by all the Eagle wrestlers for the day.

Eagles look to bounce back this coming up week by a dual at Westby Tuesday night and Saturday at the Tomah Scramble.

There’s a quote I want to share with you also by Coach Erich Taylor (Friday Night Lights)… “Every man at some point in his life is going to lose a battle. He is going to fight and he is going to lose.

But what makes him a man is in the midst of that battle he does not lose himself.”
