Ricky Dean Stevens

Ricky Dean Stevens passed away peacefully on November 30, 2021, surrounded by his family.
Rick was born March 19, 1948, to Tim and Gretchen (Larson) Stevens of Cashton, WI. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Mary Ann (Fuchsteiner), sons Ricky and Thad (Jayme), grandchildren Cameron and Carli Stevens, Logan Heil, Derek and Cole Stevens, and sister Janis Robinson.
Rick graduated from Cashton high school in 1966 and joined the United States Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam from 1967-1968 and was wounded in action. After serving his country, Rick returned home and married the love of his life Mary Ann in 1969. They moved to Platteville where Rick earned his degree in Education from the University in 1974. He then went on to teach in the Waukesha school district for 5 years.
In 1979 the family moved to Stevens Point, WI where he began a career in sales with the Acorn Equipment Corporation. He later worked in the Wholesale Division for the Team Schierl Companies until he retired in 2009.
Rick was a Packers fan who really enjoyed the days of the "Gunslinger" Brett Favre. He also enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, wood working, golf, and photography.
Rick was active in Plover VFW Post 10262 serving as the Post Commander from 1992-1993, All State Post Commander in 1993, and 7th District Commander from 1994-1995. He also was in the Marine Corps League and was the Commandant from 1994-1995. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Disabled American Veterans.
Funeral services for Rick will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday December 9, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church: 1919 Wyatt Ave. Stevens Point. Pastor Steve Hulke will officiate. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM Thursday until the time of services at the church. Full military honors will be held after the church service. Shuda Funeral Services are honored to assist the family.
Rick was preceded in death by his grandparents Louis and Tena (Severson) of Cashton, WI, parents Sylvester (Tim) and Gretchen (Larson) of Cashton, WI, and brothers Gary (Cumberland, WI) and Doug (Buffalo, WY).
