Rita was a devoted farm wife where she tended a very large garden and kept the farm looking beautiful. She was also very committed to the Cashton Cupboard and Closet where she volunteered many hours and enjoyed the company of the many dear friends she made there.

Over the years Rita enjoyed bowling, reading and doing crafts. She loved attending sporting and music events that her children and grandchildren were in at school. Her family was her joy and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Rita is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ken; eight children, Debra (Todd) Weiner, Amy (David) Brueggen, David (Amy Kaitner) Hemmersbach, Julie (Tim) Stuessel, Alan Hemmersbach, Jennifer (John) Lucas, Sarah (Nate) Reetz, and Kari (Eric) Mlsna; 24 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren with another due in August; along with many nieces, nephews; and a special place in her heart for her Colorado Family.
