Street work prompts village board to consider other park improvements

Proposal for village-wide garbage collection - Could force closure of recycling center

Work in progress at the village park has opened up the potential for more park improvements.

While there was no decision made last Wednesday, April 7, the Cashton Village Board entertained a proposal by Bill Meeks and Tim Eddy, of Southwest Sanitation, for weekly village-wide garbage and recycling pickup. The idea, however, prom0pted a debate over whether or not the recycling center would remain open if the service was approved.

Village residents currently get billed five dollars per month to help cover the costs of operating the recycling center. That total would go up $7.50 per mo...
