Edith M. Webster, 82, of Sparta, WI, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021, at Gundersen Medical Center in La Crosse, WI. Edith was born to Frank and Mina (Job) Weinke on August 25, 1938, on the family farm in Rockland, WI.
Edith married, the love of her life, Dale A. Webster March 2, 1957, on Fish Creek Ridge, rural Cashton, WI. Dale and Edith were married 50 years and had 4 children. They ran the Gamble Store where Edith arranged flowers. Edith then began working as a Title one teacher and then as the school secretary at the Cashton Elementary. She loved her job and enjoyed seeing the kids each day. Edith was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sparta for many years. From 1990-2001 she worked at a chiropractic office in Hudson, Iowa as a receptionist. While living in Iowa she was a member of St. Timothy's Church.
She enjoyed making gifts for her kids, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved teaching them different life skills. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, and tatting – which she learned from her mom. She also collected clown dolls and figurines. Edith looked forward to family reunions and cherished time spent with her family.
Edith is survived by her children, Kathy Wood of Cashton, WI, Kim (Tim) Flock of Tomah, WI, and Kevin (Margaret) Webster of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Carisa (Lucien) Nemath, Kyle (Melanie Brabbit) Webster, Cassandra (Mitch) Dittmer, Caitlin Webster, Kurtis Webster, Tiffany (Randy) Worden, Ben (Ashley) Flock, Justin Flock, Rachel (Josh) Roberts, Jessica Webster, Kirsten Webster and Matthew Webster; eight great grandchildren, Vincent, Lily, Caleb, Tyrion, Brennen, Paityn, Brynley and Amelia and another great grandson, Bronn Aurelius, due in June 2021; daughter-in-law, Cathi Webster; brother, Doug (Joyce) Weinke of Sparta, WI; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Mary Webster; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lee and Lou Ann Kidd, along with other relatives and friends. Edith also leaves behind her four-legged, best friend, Shadow. Shadow proved to be her guardian angel many times being able to sense when Edith was getting sick. He will miss her beyond understanding.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Dale; her parents, Frank and Mina; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Luella Webster; a son, Keith Webster; great granddaughter Grace Nemath; her sisters Marcella (Sally), Elaine and Erma; and her brother Lawrence (Larry).
Funeral Services will be held at the Torkelson Page-Smith Funeral Home in Sparta, WI on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 1:00 PM with Pastor Mark Kvale officiating. Burial will follow in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Cashton, WI. Family and friends are invited to the visitation which will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The funeral will be livestreamed on the Torkelson Funeral Home's Facebook page beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Due to COVID we ask that those who attend wear masks and socially distance themselves at the funeral home.
