Mildred Elaine Olstad, 87, of Cashton, WI, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, January 4, 2021. Elaine was born January 16, 1933 to Paul and Mildred (Hagen) Kingslien in WI. She married Marvin Olstad on August 8, 1953. In 1959 they moved to Russell Valley and together they made that home where she lived for 62 years.

Elaine attended Vernon County Normal School. Following that she taught in Lions Valley grades 1-8, and worked in the Sparta School District for over 20 years.

Elaine is survived by her son David (Susan) Olstad of Brandon, WI; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Jennifer (Adam) Wall and their children, Colton and Beckett all of Pewaukee, WI, and Tiffani (Chris) Nyseth and their children, Gavin, Graiden, Gwenyn, and Gerrick all of Prosper, TX; brother, Merlin Kingslien of Westby; sisters-in-law, Evanell (Wayne "Bud") Johnson of Tomah, WI, Joyce Wichelt of La Crosse, WI and LaVonne Kingslien of Westby, WI; along with other relatives and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Marvin; her parents, Paul and Mildred; a sister, Joyce and Lee Marshall, a brother, Rodney Kingslien; and a brother-in-law, Raymond Wichelt.

Private Family Graveside Services will be held in the Portland Lutheran Cemetery, Cashton, WI. Pastor Dave Sorenson will officiate. Public Funeral Services will be held at a later date at the Portland Lutheran Church in Cashton. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Cashton, WI, is assisting the family with arrangements.
