December 23, 2020

Hudson Bethke turns Josiah Thyne to pick up near-fall points.

The Eagle wrestlers hosted Hillsboro on Saturday, Dec. 19 for a conference dual. There was a good deal of action on the mat, but despite pins by both Jack Schlesner and Colin O'Neil the Eagles fell 25-48 to the Tigers.

Jack Schlesner wasted little time taking control of the 152 pound bout.

Amid several forfeits by both teams there were 10 bouts that took place.

At 285 pounds, Austin Culpitt earned the Eagles first points of the day with a 13-9 decision over Mac Verbsky.

Cashton trailed 9-36 before Hudson Bethke worked his way to a major decision in the 145 pound match up. Bethke bested Josiah Thyne 10-0.

At 152 pounds, Jack Schlesner pinned Mason Haas in :44 to cut the Eagle deficit to 19-36.

At 160 pounds, Colin O'Neil picked up six more points for Cashton, sticking Hunter Osario :58 seconds into the third period to make it 25-36.

That was as close as Cashton would get, falling 25-48.
