The VFW Post 8584 recently held their Patriot's Pen contest with the theme, "What is Patriotism to Me". Receiving first place is Lyla Schmitz, Grade 7, and attends school at Cashton Middle School, receiving second place is Eva Myer, Grade 8, and attends school at Sacred Heart School in Cashton.
Lyla's essay will advance to the district level.
Both girls received cash awards and certificates from Cashton VFW Post 8584 and Auxiliary.
