Monroe County sees weekly decline in new virus cases

Also reports second death as a result of COVID-19

As recently as July 30, Monroe County saw a substantial increase in single-day coronavirus cases, as 12 tests came back positive.

It is not clear if the mask mandate from the Wisconsin Governor’s office that took effect on August 1 has played a role, but the number of new COVID-19 cases in Monroe County have been in decline over the past week, and the totals from over the weekend reached just two - One on Saturday, August 8, and one on Sunday, August 9.
