Bald Eagle sightings have become more common in recent years, thanks in large part to the Endangered Species Preservation Act of 1966 and the Endangered Species Act of 1973. Bald Eagles were removed from the federal list of threatened and endangered species in 2007. However, Bald Eagles remain protected under the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act and the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
