Music Still Rocks

April 22, 2020

With the likelihood of not being able to present a spring concert this year, the High School Choir will still give a virtual performance. Students are currently working on their first piece “Shallow” from the movie “Star is Born”.

Students are recording themselves singing their parts and then will send them to music teacher, Skyler Erickson. Mr. Erickson will create a big video montage of them all singing their songs and parts to create one song. Mr. Erickson also spent time working on a music website that houses all of the information for all his grades of music under the ONLINE LEARNING tab where they will find their assignments weekly. It seems to be effective and a great way to have everything all in one place.

The Middle School Choir is having fun already. They have been doing the “Masked Singer” challenge via flipgrid. Students get to choose their emoji that want to be, cover their faces, and sing a song of their choice. Students are having fun guessing who each singer is and this activity is proving to be a fun challenge for everyone.
