The top five songs on the rock charts in 1984 were “When Doves Cry” (Prince), “What’s Love Got to Do with It” (Tina Turner), “Say Say Say” (Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson), “Footloose” Kenny Loggins, “Against All Odds - Take a Look at Me Now” (Phil Collins). The second best-selling album of that year was Huey Lewis & The News, Sports. Number one was Michael Jackson, Thriller. While a few of these songs top my personal list of all-time favorites, I do remember...
