Richard Frederick Paul Miessler


Richard Frederick Paul Miessler, 95, of Rural Norwalk, WI, formerly of Addison, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at Mayo Health Center, in Sparta, WI. He was born December 7, 1924 to Ernest and Frieda (Rodermund) Miessler, in Addison, IL. July 11, 1953, he was united in marriage to Darline Kruger.

Richard is survived by three daughters: Donna (Edward) Magerkurth of Montgomery, IL, Marian (Randy) Moore of Norwalk, WI, and Marilyn (Robyn Pozanc) of Cashton, WI; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren: Melissa (Todd) Howard and their children, Alexandra and Christopher, Bryan (Megan) Magerkurth and their children, Andrew and Allison, Erika (Bill) McDowell and their children, Ian, Brielle, Maddison and Tatum, Kristen Magerkurth, Edward Magerkurth and Caycee Miessler; sister Betty Franke of IL, and brother, Howard Miessler of Wyoming; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Darline in 2000; sister, Lois (Norbert) Rathje; sister-in-law, Helen Miessler and brother-in-law, James Franke.

A Private Family Graveside Service with full Military Honors is being planned for Richard in the Melvina Cemetery. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Cashton is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers a memorial will be set up in Richard’s name. Memorials may be sent to the Torkelson Funeral Home, 720 Wisconsin St. Cashton, WI 54619; which will then be forwarded to his family.
