Katherine Marie Hemmersbach

March 11, 2020

Katherine Marie Hemmersbach, 68, of Cashton passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family, Friday March 6, 2020. She was born March 26, 1951, to Leif and Irene (Paulsrud) Wang in Viroqua, WI.

On July 27, 1974, she was united in holy matrimony to Walter Hemmersbach at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cashton. Kathy and Wally were blessed with two children, Lynn and Lori who she was very proud of. Her three grandchildren, all boys, brought her much happiness and meant the world to her.

Kathy could often be found at horse shows with Wally and the girls helping behind the scenes and keeping everyone fed. It was a familiar sight to see her pull in with the red Ford towing a camper. She was also known to use the I-Pass Lane, even though she never had one. Kathy’s pride and joy were her three grandchildren. She spent countless hours with them and was always eager to have them around. If Kathy was on her own she enjoyed being outdoors, gardening or traveling the countryside antiquing.

She is survived by her husband of almost 46 years, Wally; daughters, Lynn (Nathan) Isensee and Lori (Scot) Hemmersbach-Sanders; grandsons, Zach, Ross and Lance all of Cashton; two brothers, Larry Wang of Toulon, IL and Frederick Wang of Westby; one sister, Beverly (Verle) Erickson of Viroqua; sisters-in-law, Judith Hemmersbach of Huntington Beach, CA, Joyce Sonday and Carol (Marvin) Brueggen both of Sparta; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Deborah Wang; one brother, Roger Wang Sr .; in-laws, William and Leona Hemmersbach; brothers-in-law, Carroll Sonday and Robert Scopin Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited for a gathering celebrating Kathy’s life which will be held Tuesday March 10, 2020 at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton, beginning at 4:00 p.m. and closing with a prayer service at 7:00p.m. Online condolences may be offered at http://www.torkelsonfuneralhome.com.
