PROCEEDINGS OF THE CASHTON, WI

VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

February 5, 2020

At 6 P.M. a public hearing was held for the rezoning of Lot 13, 14 & 15 on Katie Lane from Residential to Multi-Family. Jason Kuderer would like to put up a sixplex and a duplex on the 3 lots. The apartments will all be 2 bedrooms with separate driveways and garages. They will all be constructed with similar materials as the existing apartment buildings. Citizens that were heard included Tony Herricks, Ronald Larson, Matt Muraski, and Jeremy Mosley.

At 7:00 P.M. President Robert Amundson called the regular meeting to order. Roll call. All Present. Minutes of the January meeting were read.

Motion made by Byers 2nd by Hutchison to approve minutes as read. Motion carried.

Chief Ron Rader came before the board and presented the stats. The Board asked about the occurrence of gas drive-offs. Ron Rader stated that there weren’t many to deal with.

Motion made by Byers 2nd by Hundt to approve Rader attending the Chief of Police conference in Wisconsin Dells on Feb. 10- Feb. 12. Motion carried.

Motion made by Arnie Klinkner 2nd by Hundt to approve changing underage 16 and under drinking forfeitures to 1st offense $100, 2nd offense $150 and 3rd offense within 12 months will be $200.00. Motion carried.

DPW Bekkum came before the board to discuss the park playground equipment move, drainage issues, and park shelters. The playground equipment will be staying where it is currently and the other issues will be discussed at a later date.

Other issues brought up were winter street parking and sidewalk snow removal. There will be a judicial meeting on Feb. 28th @ 6 P.M. to discuss the issues and form a resolution.

The flag-pole across from the fire station has been problematic as of late so the board suggested that Bekkum get some pricing on a 35’ pole with an internal rope.

Communications were read and included the library expense report.

President Amundson shared with the board that the Fire District has agreed to pay $500.00 to Cathy Wendland annually for her extra work for the district.

There was some discussion of the recent summer rec meeting that was attended at the Elementary school. There will be further review of this years’ program in September.

Live on Main committee would like to possibly have Sheriff’s Reserve members at the event this year and wondered if the Village would possibly pay the cost. The board recommended that Rader find out the cost and the amount of hours needed.

Motion made by Hundt 2nd by Dickman opposed by Mike Klinkner to approve the rezoning of Lot 13, 14 & 15 on Katie Lane to Multi-Family. Motion carried.

Motion made by Arnie Klinkner 2nd by Byers to approve the Fire District request for $4050.00.

Motion carried.

Motion made by Hutchison 2nd by Mike Klinkner to approve the alcohol licenses. Motion carried.

Motion made by Mike Klinkner 2nd by Arnold Klinkner to go into closed session @ 8:02 P.M.

Motion made by Hutchison 2nd by Arnold Klinkner to adjourn at 8:41 P.M.
