Monroe County awarded funding to improve environmental health

Monroe County Health Department was awarded $10,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to improve environmental public health in Monroe County by improving private well water testing.
In Monroe County’s 24 townships there are an estimated 4,646 private wells. According the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Well Water viewer, between 1988-March 2017, 25% of private wells were tested for nitrates, 11% for bacteria, and 3% for arsenic. “This shortage of data means that, Mo...
