Loren R. Siverhus

Loren R. Siverhus, 62, of Cashton, WI, passed away in his home, Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Loren would have celebrated his 63 birthday on May 23. He was born in Viroqua, WI, in 1956, to Harry and Margie (O’Neil) Siverhus. He was a 1974 graduate of Cashton High School. Loren loved farming and after graduation he continued working on the family farm, “Melport Meadows,” in the town of Portland. He took great pride in the registered Holsteins that he raised and his record keeping was impeccable. He finished his farming career working for “Maple Twin Farms” for over 20 more years.

Loren was a very good farmer; it was a job that he lived and loved to do. Farming, nature and being in the country was Loren’s true passion. Loren may have been very quiet, but the love he had for his family was strong. He thought the world of his nieces and great-nephew.

Loren is survived by his brother, Richard (Carol) Siverhus; nieces, Holly (Chris Pederson) Siverhus, Wendy (Nate) Devermann, and Kari Siverhus and her son Connor; aunts, Clarice and Gwendolyn Siverhus; along with many cousins, good neighbors and friends.

Loren was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Margie.

Funeral Services will be held on his birthday, May 23, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Portland Lutheran Church in Portland, WI. Pastor David Sorenson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Portland Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for visitation Wednesday, May 22, 2019, 4-7:00 p.m. at Torkelson Funeral Home in Cashton. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, May 23, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Memorials may be made in Loren’s name to the Portland Lutheran Cemetery. The Torkelson Funeral Home of Cashton, WI, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at
