Eagle baseball falls at Wilton to Brookwood

The Eagle baseball team traveled to Wilton last Monday, April 15, to take on Brookwood. The Eagles outhit the Falcons, but lost 5-2.

Cashton started the season winning their first three, but last week's loss to Brookwood marks their second straight loss.

Carter Hall and Ty Costello scored the only runs for the Eagles, both coming in the fourth inning. Brett Butzler had Cashton's only RBI.

Brookwood led 2-0 after the first inning, and added a run in the third to take a 3-0 advantage.

Hall walked to lead off the fourth inning and Ty Costello singled with two outs. Butzler drove in Hall with a base hit, and Costello reached home on a Fielder's choice. Damon Lukaszewski singled to join Butzler on the bases. Both were left stranded.

Brookwood added two runs in the fifth to take a three run lead.

Kole Ripley singled to lead off the sixth, but was stranded at third to end the inning.

Costello was on the mound to pitch the first three innings. He finished with 6 strike-outs. Brookwood scored two runs on one hit. Dempsey came in for the final three innings, struck out four and gave up three hits and three runs.

The pitching duo walked three batters each.

Kaden Brandau and Mitch Klinkner both had RBI doubles for the Falcons. Brandau pitched a complete game, striking out 11 Eagle batters.

Cashton out hit Brookwood 5-4. Hall 1-3, run; Ripley 1-3; Costello 1-3, run; Butzler 1-3, RBI; Lukaszewski 1-2.
